Child Therapy
At Child and Family Psychological Services, we work with children as young as three years old struggling with problems such as separation anxiety, generalized anxiety, Attention Deficit Disorder, bereavement and loss issues, or behavioral issues. We also treat children who have been the victim of abuse or neglect, are experiencing difficulty due to a conflictual divorce between their parents, or are adjusting to foster care or adoptive placement.
Children are offered a comfortable, safe environment in which they can develop a therapeutic relationship with their therapist, identify the problem that is causing them difficulty, and strengthen coping skills to manage their feelings. Parents will often be seen either by the same therapist or by another therapist to assist them in their child's therapy. Duration of treatment varies.
