Our History
A group of psychologists and social workers set out to develop an outpatient program for children which would provide state-of-the-art treatments for children and their families. As a result of this effort, Child & Family Psychological Services was established and continues to provide the most effective assessment and treatment services for children, adolescents, adults and families. Through staff associations at SUNY at Stony Brook, we have access to the most up-to-date tested techniques.
Our agency is a training facility. Students in clinical psychology receive training in our office under the supervision of licensed psychologists.

While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
With over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, I specialize in person centered therapy which enables me to create individualized treatment for each client I meet. Psychological evaluations are also offered to assess for ADHD, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ADOS-2), and developmental delays.
At our practice we use humanistic therapy techniques. I use a variety of techniques such play therapy, sandplay therapy, expressive therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, nuerofeedback, biofeedback, and person centered therapy. I believe that every individual or family is unique and the treatment should be catered to their needs.

I specialize in treating clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting challenges, and couples who are ready to begin the healing process. As a person who has been through and overcame some adversity, I have a great deal of empathy as well as a nifty toolbox for those who are ready to get off the merry-go-round. You may feel like a hostage to intrusive thoughts or consumed by worry and apprehension that limits your relational or occupational functioning. You have experienced relationship difficulties or an end to a relationship. You find yourself feeling as though someone has pulled the rug out beneath you leaving your heart feeling broken and in pain. You may feel beaten down, emotionally raw, lost, or stuck. Are you plagued by anxiety, nightmares, flashbacks, and insomnia? I am ready to roll up my sleeves if you are and help you sort it all out. I love collaborating with clients who are ready, able, open-minded, and introspective – they’re the ones who often see the most progress from our work.
You are ready to rebuild your skill set, and you have the courage to face difficult emotions and deep-seated trauma, yet it can be scary. You’re here because you know you need professional tools to get things back on track and get things moving forward. That is what I am here for…to support you and help you develop tools that are effective and can help you live the life you deserve.
I have post-graduate level training and specialization that can help you moderate symptoms and face challenges that limits one’s life. I use an eclectic framework which involves cognitive-behavior-therapy, neuro-counseling, psychodynamic approaches, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, and evidence-base exercise to improve neurotransmission. Most importantly, I use the qualities of a natural therapist to connect with people: warmth, compassion, integrity, and empathy - to develop rapport, validate, affirm, and support you through these extremely difficult emotions and trauma.

I know therapy can be daunting, to reach a point where you feel comfortable opening up, being honest, and vulnerable. This alone can be a challenge, so the fact that you're here reading this is already progress in the right direction. I strive to provide what I like to consider a judgment free “safe haven” where individuals can express themselves openly and authentically.
I recognize that therapy is a unique experience for each individual, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. We will work collaboratively to assessing and evaluate an action plan to navigate our path forward. Involving my clients in this process is crucial to ensure their understanding and mutual agreement on the smaller goals we establish.
My goal is to create a therapeutic space where clients feel valued, supported and understood. Whether we are navigating major life challenges or simply working on coping with daily stressors, I am dedicated and committed to being a part of each step along your journey so that you do not have to walk through it alone.

The therapeutic relationship is one that should hold no judgments, be empathetic, be safe, andshould ultimately empower the client to cope with the issues that they face. Creating a specifictreatment plan using a person-centered approach will allow for an autonomous environment.

My passion is working with children, adolescents, and young adults who are experiencing
mental health symptoms and/or have been involved with the criminal justice system. Through the field of psychology, we have learned that much of our life trajectory is determined by experiences in these formative years. My goal is to help individuals through their anxiety, depression, and other life stressors by providing support and tools; in doing this, we can work together to achieve the goals you have!
I have earned both my Masters in Forensic Psychology and Masters in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. By using a multitude of therapeutic practices such as psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and motivational interviewing the therapy process is individualized to fit you best! The practice provides talk therapy, play therapy, neurofeedback, biofeedback, and person-centered therapy.
Taking the first step is one of the most challenging parts of the process and by looking for help you have already taken such a huge leap! Please do not hesitate to reach out.

LGBTQ+ licensed social worker passionate about queer history and advocacy. My goal is providing affirming mental health care to all those under the LGBTQ+ umbrella.
Life is messy, complicated, and often out of our control. Being amidst this chaos can feel overwhelming and isolating, especially if you are still figuring out your identity and how you fit into the world. My aim is to help clients figure out what aspects of life they do have control over and empower them to take a stand or make a change. This control can come in the form of exploration and acceptance or recognizing and disrupting unhealthy patterns.
I strive to create a collaborative and warm space to foster a therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy, and validation. I work with my clients to find solutions where we can and understanding or acceptance where we cannot. Many clients also find speaking to a therapist with a personal understanding and experience of their own to be beneficial, especially within the queer community.
I believe healing and peace are found within balance and would love to aid you in finding or creating that in your own life. When you’re ready, let’s begin!
